Factors that have influenced the success of IVF treatment in India

The success rate of the IVF procedure is inconsistent and may vary according to demographic conditions. The degree of IVF success depends on many factors, including the pre-existing medical condition. On the other hand, in case of miscarriage or recurrence of thin endometrium the same treatment lags behind. Other factors that impair the success rate of IVF include abnormal exposure to DES, latent decay, and fibrous disease.

The following are some of the factors that have influenced the success of IVF treatment in India:

Period of infertility

The success rate of infertility treatment like IVF mainly depends on how infertile you are. If the period of infertility can be compared with the age of the woman, then the success rate is greatly reduced. As it turns out, you may have the option of laying eggs.

Frequent miscarriages

If you have a history of recurrent miscarriages, you need to exercise caution before starting treatment. Carrying a living baby can be a daunting task for such a baby.

Inefficient ovulation

The successful rate of IVF treatment can also alter ovarian dysfunction. Patients with low levels of AMH and high levels of FSH are less likely to succeed.

Exercise

Success rates with IVF are higher in women who exercise moderately. Similarly, men who exercise at least three times a day for at least an hour have better quality sperm that are motile and present in large numbers.

Important Preparation for IVF Treatment

In general, your diet (and really always) should include large amounts of nutritious fresh organic food before IVF. You should avoid processed foods and foods that contain ivory derivatives. Instead of really changing your diet to avoid the risk of the fetus from toxic chemicals like pesticides, chemicals, antibiotics, hormones and any kind of smoking, you can consider mild detox. You should also consider your body weight. Those who want to learn how to prepare for IVF treatment should try to achieve a healthy weight because being overweight and underweight has an adverse effect on ovulation. To prepare for IVF treatment, you may want to consider taking a supplement that already exists.

Over the years, many reputable companies have begun to develop supplements designed for both women and men that contain all the essential vitamins, minerals and trace elements needed for pregnancy and should be recommended by doctors.

How Safe is IVF? The Cycle Before Treatment

IVF is a common treatment for people who are unable to conceive naturally. Usually in IVF treatment, the woman has medicines (fertility hormones) to stimulate the ovaries to produce several eggs. The eggs are then collected and  mixed with sperm in a laboratory.

IVF is carried out when the sperm quality is considered to be ‘normal’ If there are issues with the sperm quality such as low motility or numbers, a procedure called intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) may instead be used – this is where a single sperm is injected into the egg by an embryologist.

If fertilization is successful, the embryos are allowed to develop for between two and six days. This helps the embryologist to select the strongest embryo, which is then transferred back to the woman’s womb to hopefully continue to a successful birth.

Often several good quality embryos will be created. In these cases, it's normally best practice to freeze the remaining embryos because putting two embryos back in the womb increases your chance of having twins or triplets, which carries health risks. You can use your frozen embryos later on if your first cycle is unsuccessful or you want to try for another baby.

The Cycle Before Treatment

The cycle before your IVF treatment is scheduled, you may be put on birth control pills. This may seem backward, aren't you trying to get pregnant?

Using birth control pills before a treatment cycle has been shown to potentially improve your odds of success. Also, it may decrease your risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome and ovarian cysts. But not every doctor uses birth control pills the cycle before. Another possibility is that your doctor will ask you to track ovulation the cycle before. Most likely, she will recommend using an ovulation predictor kit. However, she may also suggest basal body temperature charting, especially if you have experience charting your cycles.

How Safe is IVF?

IVF is generally very safe and most who have it experience no problems with their health or pregnancy. However, there are some risks to be aware of, which include:

  • Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (a severe reaction to fertility drugs)

  • Having a multiple pregnancy or birth (twins, triplets or more), which can cause serious health problems to both mum and babies.

  • Having an ectopic pregnancy

  • Possible birth defects (these are rare and research is still ongoing).

It’s very important you understand all the risks of IVF and know when to spot the symptoms of something serious

IVF is never the first step in the treatment of infertility except in cases of complete tubal blockage. Instead, it's reserved for cases in which other methods such as fertility drugs, surgery, and artificial insemination haven't worked.

Steps, risks, and success rate of IVF Treatment

Steps, risks, and success rate of IVF Treatment

IVF Overview

A woman's egg is taken from her ovaries and fertilized in the lab with sperm via In vitro fertilization (IVF). Fertilized eggs are called embryos once they are successfully fertilized. It grows and develops in the womb.

A complete cycle of IVF involves stimulating the ovaries to produce eggs, which are collected and paired with sperm to have one or more embryos. At least one is implanted as a fresh embryo into the womb. It is still considered to be part of the same cycle if a frozen embryo is later used. Generally, one cycle of IVF lasts between four and six weeks. A baby born by IVF technique is also called a Test Tube baby. There are many IVF hospitals where you can get IVF treatment. You can also consider Seeds IVF as it is known for its world class treatment and it is also one of the best test tube baby hospitals in Nashik.

Steps of IVF Treatment

A typical IVF cycle will take four to six weeks for most women. You may be offered oral contraception or progestogen tablets before your treatment begins. You may feel like this is a step backward, but it is necessary so that you can know when to take fertility drugs.

The following six steps are as follows:

Step 1: Inhibition of ovarian function

Your ovaries might be switched off with medication to stop egg production. As a result, the upcoming medication will have a better effect.

Step 2: Stimulation of ovarian function

You will receive hormonal medication to help your ovaries produce more than one egg at a time (unlike the way they do naturally). It can either be administered as a nasal spray or as a self-administered injection.

To monitor your ovaries and determine if you have hyperstimulation syndrome, you should undergo routine ultrasounds throughout ovarian stimulation. Sometimes, scans are carried out on a daily or alternate basis.

Step 3: Collection of eggs

Clinics or treatment rooms will be used for this process. The egg collection is done by using a needle inserted into your vaginal cavity. While this procedure is being performed, you will receive an injection of sedation and painkillers. Once this is complete, you will be unable to drive or return to work. So make arrangements to be driven home.

Step 4: Sperm collection

In the same cycle that your partner's eggs are taken, they'll be asked to provide their sperm sample. You may be offered further procedures and IVF if their sperm count is low or they have low-quality sperm. In both cases, sperm is injected intracytoplasmically.

Step 5: Fertilization of eggs

An incubator is used to combine eggs and sperm. There is then a possibility that some eggs may be fertilized. An 'embryo' is formed after an egg has been fertilized. Up to six days are required for embryos resulting from the procedure to be kept in the incubator. Temperature and conditions surrounding eggs and sperm remain similar to natural body conditions.

Step 6: Transplantation of embryos

A fertilized egg is transferred to a uterus. The procedure involves passing a thin tube into the vagina called a catheter. The number of embryos that will be transferred will be discussed with you by your doctor. A maximum of two embryos should be transferred at a time.

In making this decision, we will consider:

  • If you use donor eggs, your age (or the age of the donor) is essential.

  • Embryo quality

  • The number of unsuccessful IVF cycles you have had.

Risk in IVF Treatment

A few health risks are associated with IVF. Some of these are:

  • Hot flashes, restlessness, and headaches are common medication side effects

  • Pregnancy that is ectopic

  • Complications can arise from multiple births.

Success Rate of IVF Treatment

In many cases, IVF does not work. Based on the age of the woman, the odds of a woman giving birth from IVF treatment are as follows:

  • under 35 age : 29%

  • 35-37 age : 23%

  • 38-39 age : 15%

  • 40-42 age : 9%

  • 43-44 age : 3%

  • over 44 age : 2%.

Although there are various hospitals for IVF treatment or test-tube babies. As per the survey, Seeds IVF is considered the best test tube baby hospital in Nashik and India due to its high success rate and world-class facility available in Hospital.
